Diana's funeral

Diana's funeral will be held on Friday 7 August.

There will be a short burial service at Feldy View Woodland Cemetery on Mersea Island, at 11.30am. Then the main funeral service will be held afterwards, at 12.45pm, at Plume Avenue United Reformed Church CO3 4PQ because our own church may not be big enough. Both services are open to anyone who would like to attend. More details can be found here.

Arthur Blessitt - 9th Aug 2nd service

Just heard that Arthur Blessitt can come to speak at the second service on the 9th Aug. 10.45 at the church. As well as carrying his cross on foot in every county in the world Arthur is the only guy we know who has had a feature film made of his life - and that since he was last with us when these pictures were taken

Unfortunatley we dont have time ot sort publicity etc out - but please bring your friends!
Yes the early service & the evening will happen that week too, but Arthur is only at the second

Diana Hubbard

We are saddened to announce that Diana died last night, 28th July in the ITU in Colchester hospital. Diana was the longest standing member of the church here, having arrived in 1969 with her brother Mike and their parents,Sid and Dorothy now at Lifehouse (fka Gosbecks). She met and married Richard in Lexden and they were among the 18 who formed the first church membership. She was a leader of livewires; the friday night youth group, as well as sunday morning youth ministry in the church and she served Jesus in all sorts of roles in the town.
It was always easy to pray for Diana and she received so much from the Holy Spirit, not the least of which was her strength and determination in the face of the CF that she was diagnosed with in childhood.

Please pray for Richard and their son Shaun, for Sid and Dorothy her parents, and of course her wider family and many friends.

HOPE'09

Hope'09 is an outreach initiative and has proven to be a success in the past. Following the success of last years Hope'08 outreach, it will be running again this Summer on the 22nd of August between 10am and 3pm in the town centre, preceeded by a commissioning service at St Peter's church. We are looking for help with the following:- BBQ, table hosts (talking to people), prayer, children’s workers, refreshments, surveys, testimonies, set up/down, leaflet dropping.

If you feel you can be of any help and would like to participate in making a difference in our town (Which hopefully you all do!) please do contact Jamie Kidd or one of the leaders at the church for more information.

Remember this is not for any specific people with particular callings although welcome, but also for anyone who has a willing and servant heart!
