Smile

Its bbeen another busy week for Smile. as well as Mega Kids club on Friday and a few school visits they did an audition for Britains got talent TV show. Ella did some ventriloquism Tues and then the team went on Wednesday. Here is Ella's report

We really don't know the results - we find out in December!  Not quite sure how it looks on t.v. but I went Tuesday and had really positive response, they did some lengthy interviews with me and took lots of shots with me and Gladys and they wanted my audition to go on, other people were being stopped at 30 seconds, we will see.
The team - I was so proud of them on Wednesday, absolutely amazing, same sort of story really - all very positive let them do the whole song, we did the Doug Horley I believe one and because I wasn't actually in it, I heard all the comments around the room and to see thousands of people clapping and dancing and singing along to "I believe that someday I'm going to heaven" was awesome, then to have the producer ask if we could do a performance again in front of the cameras, I was so proud of the whole team, they gave it their all for Jesus, we want something like this for His glory, don't think we will really get anywhere but it will be a great experience and hopefully get our name out a bit more to do more evangelism things, many people wanted our details.
The team were great

Ella and John - in the States

John and I have just finished our trip to the States, we had an amazing time. I was asked to be on the American Ventriloquist Dream team, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done – it stretched my abilities, expanded me as a person and made me realise I need to use my gift more to share the gospel.

John and I didn’t really see a lot of each other, John was chosen to be on staff and he had an amazing time, he met lots of people and learned a lot. We have many invitations to visit many places around the world. We met a man who had seen me in Sri Lanka, we visited his church, I was not doing puppets then – the Lord told him after the disaster on boxing day to go to the villages and share the gospel through ventriloquism, he has invited us to his church when we next visit.

As SMILE Puppets we have agreed to sponsor a child, we will hear in the next few weeks who this is.

I have recently had my book published Living Behind the Mask, I was able to share my testimony with a few people in the States, the problems with eating disorders are even more widespread than in Europe. Many people have approached me after reading my book and have said they need help, I have a women’s speaking engagement in November on my testimony.

We will be planning a new Christmas production for this December and will probably do this as a big event over a couple of evenings, we will be asking for donations for this. We are needing to raise money to go to New York next year for training with Kids club – we are standing in faith to take Beth, Lauren and Ffi then we will go to the International Festival for Puppetry and maybe do a small tour around some of our friends in the States, Josh, Shaun, John and the girls will be training soon to do a half marathon to raise money for them to be able to go.

I could write so much more – best to give us a call or ask directly.

God Bless you all and thank you for your prayers

Love Ella & John XX

smile - TV programmes

Hi all  - just to let you know that the TV programmes on the ten we have been making with Revelation TV are almost complete, the editing should be finished by the end of this month, so we should have some dvd's available. If anyone is interested in coming round for a viewing of the dvd's please let me know.

The kids worked so hard on this, it will be worth it, they make us all look so professional. There are clips on R Kids Saturday mornings.

SMILE Mega Kids Club

Megasplatnwriting Smile Mega Kids Club has been running for over a year now, we run the Bill Wilson Christian programmes in Stanway Secondary School. The dates for this year are 3rd March, 5th May, 9th June, 8th September, 6th October, 3rd November, 1st December 2006.  The Kids Club is open to all 5-11 year olds in Colchester, we have an experienced group of volunteers working with us.  Essex County Council have paid for the buses for a year, we bus the children in from all areas of Colchester, it is a fun safe environment for the children to come and learn about Jesus.

We have people who have come along side us to partner financially with this club, it is amazing to see the teenagers growing whilst teaching the younger children Christian principles.

If you want to know more log onto our website www.smilepuppetministry.org.uk God Bless you and thank you for your prayers.
