Groeten uit Canada!

(Greetings from Canada)

Well, big news, but I'm sure you already heard, Bas and I finally got married on October 2nd. We spent the day in a few really beautiful parts of Holland; Zutphen, Eefde, Voorst and Twello. I must admit, a Dutch wedding is definitely not your ordinary wedding what with two services and all, and lots of tea! But nevertheless, we had a wonderful day and a great start to our new life together.

Now that we're back in Canada, we're taking our time in getting used to living with one another, and enjoying the extra time that we have together. It's certainly a new journey, but a good one.

Bas' work is going well. For those of you who don't know, Bas opened a Canadian office for a Dutch company. They specialize in quality control of bio fuels. He also certifies companies as sustainable. A far cry from my job in youth ministry I must say! God is opening up more and more opportunities for him in this field, and we're excited that he can spread his wings a bit more this coming year.

Work at University Chapel goes well. The youth are all growing fast- physically and spiritually. We often have long discussions about all kinds of topics, from relationships, to Jesus coming back, to evolution, to behaving as a Christian at school and so on. It's sometimes quite challenging, but often so rewarding. This month I also start volunteering in our local high school, working in a special needs class. One of my students attends that class, so it will be good to get to spend more time with him during the week.

Well, that's a short update for now. If you want to see more pictures, you can do so right here.
And if you want to write and tell me how you're doing, you can email. Amy@universitychapel.org

Hopefully speak soon.
Tot ziens!
(See you soon...)
