Week of Prayer : 15th -21st September 2008 - final weekend...

Thanks to all who came in to pray over the weekend... it all finished with an all-age service together on the Sunday morning. Highlight was making a giant map of the UK to help us pray!

Overall? Where was everyone? Now that's honest... probably the lowest turnout ever. maybe we timed it wrong, or had too busy a schedule. Sorry if that was the case. really felt glad about Tuesday morning's trip to Steeple Bumpstead though.

Week of Prayer : 15th -21st September 2008 - Tues-Thurs

Hello again - Tues morning was great, went to the source of the Colne to pray to obey what God had previously said to us... see 2 Kings 2:19 onwards. really felt it was a good and necessary time. The evening just had literally a handful again of people: but we were able to pray for the town for a while. Soaking on Weds eve (give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses) was packed! Champions on Thursday was the opposite, though the teaching on prayer was superb. Now to the weekend...

Week of Prayer : 15th -21st September 2008 - Monday

The week of prayer started tonight (Monday) with a great night of worship. "Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name" we sung... and praised and sung and praised.... and then the presence of God came down and we were on the floor and loving it! Key verse was 1 John 3:1  "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3  Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure." We just carried on ministering (those who could) on the instruments and enjoying him. Tomorrow is "Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"

Week of Prayer Monday 7th – Friday 11th January 2008

Monday

Evening

Beautiful layout in the room, candles and the sound of running water, Thankyou Steve, Tracey and Sarah.

We began in worship and stayed in that place for quite a while. Then Paul prayed about worship in the church. For the Lord to bring us into higher levels and new ways. We prayed for the worship for a while.

Trish shared that she sensed the Lord gave her the following words: Rest, refreshment, restoration, recuperation, renewing, realigning readjusting.

Isabelle then shared a picture she had had of a full size Davidic harp in the front centre of the building. Much smaller ones then formed behind it – still at first then they started dancing in uniformed/ united fashion. There then appeared a big drum in the centre which became louder and louder. This represented the heartbeat of God.

Isabelle sensed the Lord saying for those who have ears to hear synchronize in me. Greater power will be released through unison with My Spirit. This is a call to submission to seek My heart – not only to hear it but to move and act according it My rhythm not yours.

Simon brought a word about resonance. During the prayer time Sarah Wuyts heralded a sound in the spirit like a deep resonant instrument. As he heard this Simon felt we need to be RESONANT with God’s heart. We need to be worshipping in spirit and truth.

We then spent a good length of time thanking the Lord for many things he had given – e.g. Sonship instead of being Orphans. This was a very joyful time as we sang our thanksgiving to God.

Dave sensed that we had God’s full attention and said to ask for those things we would like to see in our congregation,. Amongst the things asked for; Unity, helping each other, to be a house of prayer to the nations, a place of healing and restoration, outreach to the community to get along side the marginalised. A piece of land to build a church to God’s specifications.

Sid said that although people were being added to the church they were from outside the area. He sensed the Lord said to ask him why we were not reaching those from the local area.

Gail felt we needed to pray that hearts and minds would be opened as the bible tells us that the enemy has closed the eyes of those outside the church and “ the message of the cross seems foolishness to them”(1 Corinthians 1v 18).

Paul read 1 Corinthians 2 v10 - 16. He felt that it is evident that God’s Spirit rests on Gosbecks but we need wisdom as to how to use what God has given us.

Tuesday

On Tuesday morning we began with a reflection on the City of God. Gail then shared as follows:- “God gave me several pictures last night which I didn’t have chance to share. These were just before Sarah prayed about God being our fortress and entering his gates.

Firstly the words “ Rescue me” came into my mind out of the blue. Then I heard a loud voice shouting, “Enter in. Enter in “. A door before me opened and Jesus stood there beckoning me in.

Next I was being pushed along by a crowd of people through a large city gate. A warning bell was being sounded and the gates were slammed shut and barred behind us. There was a great sense of safety and peace inside the gates.”

We spent time praying and also reflecting on the river which makes glad the city of God. Prayer and intercession followed, much about the flow out into the nation and then finally for men in the Church.

In the evening there was much prayer around the subject of us being a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1) and the outworking of that in the Church. We spent much time laying ourselves down before God and receiving his life in exchange, especially using saucepans and jugs of water! Again we finished by asking God for what we wanted to see in the Church.

Thursday Night (Wednesday was soaking which was great and packed. Really nice fellowship afterwards too)

We started off by watching the Powerful drama skit which is performed to the Lifehouse song called "Everything". This can be watched on the "Latest News" Page on this site. The challenge that comes through this is that God can truly make us whole and absolutely nothing can separate us from his love. So we should seek to get free in him and help others to get free too. Run after him and don't give up.

Dave talked about how through Luther "Justification by Faith" returned to the Church, now everybody could know Jesus, that through Asuza Street and the Welsh revival the Holy Spirit and his gifts were restored to Church life, and through Toronto from 1994 the father and his love became part of Church experience again. All of these things were always there but it took reformation and revival to release them into Church life. We carry such a privilege here and need to embrace it and run with it. It's amazing how we're receiving more and more!

This is something to give away. It was prayed that we have to do nothing to add to what God's done and yet that he would complete his work in us so we could give it to others. We asked for a passion for those who don't know him, and there was a sense of our swords being sharpened ready for what he was going to do.

In a blog it is sometimes hard to describe events during a time of prayer: but there were many prayers which were personal and real, all sharing a longing to go deeper and to be used more to reach others.

At the end Dave & Sarah were anointed with oil for the task ahead as they lead us out into all he has for us.

Friday Evening

A time of reflective worship followed by Communion and then silence before the Lord for quite a while. We then began to sing

Picture – A sunny day Jesus walking alone down a beach towards an ocean- Suddenly a large brown galleon – pirate type – appeared and was so brazen it came all the way onto the beach growing in size and menacing.

Jesus reached out His hand and with one touch of His finger it rolled on its side.

Angels then descended and started rolling the vessel out to sea and as they did so the vessel decreased and decreased until it disappeared like a soluble aspirin in water.

Crowds then flooded the beach dancing rejoicing a few on their knees hands in the air praising God - then we started singing Roll away the darkness. We sang a prophetic song and we started calling back the prodigals we knew of by name. An increased anointing in the room.

We again asked the Lord for the land and Dave shared that this had been given to him during one of his trips to

Toronto

. – we all cried out to the Lord for His provision and Dave shared that the land would be given. The price of the building would be nothing yet would cost us everything....

The church will be like a snowball rolling and gathering and growing in size.

Paul started the requests to the Lord by asking for the following and others added to it:-

Architect with a Christian understanding
Fully equipped kitchen with 2 bread makers!
God appointed builders
Planning Committee giving us favour
Favour with the MP and town council to combat any issues that would come against the plans.
A natural spring
Spacious rooms with high ceilings and space to dance. To include a prayer room and Creative room for the arts, soaking and healing rooms, a place for the broken to be healed.
Spacious grounds including garden area and space for outdoor activities
Adequate toilet facilities
Adequate Parking facilities....

We listened to Heidi Baker teaching about Gods supernatural provision. God has given us the keys, however we need to know the address of His Kingdom and to find the way we need to become like a child.
